The Block Pro
Turn it to 5, 10, 30 or 60 and the block starts; lay it flat and it stops. The whole front is the display, so the number reads from across the room — and when your work does not fit the four, you set the countdown by hand.

Description
Four presets — five, ten, thirty and sixty minutes. You turn the one you want to the top and the block has started; there is no menu and nothing to confirm.
The digits fill the whole front face, so the time left is readable from the other side of the room, not just from your chair.
And the four are not the limit: the Pro takes a countdown you set by hand, for the work that comes in forty- or ninety-minute pieces.
Shipping & delivery
Free shipping on every order, with no minimum.
Orders are picked and packed on business days. You get a confirmation email straight away, and a separate email with tracking once the parcel is first scanned.
The delivery estimate for your address is calculated at checkout, before you pay. If tracking ever stops moving, email us — we chase it or send a replacement, and you do not have to wait out a set number of days before asking.

The problem
You pick up your phone to start focusing.
The timer lives on your phone. So every work block begins by unlocking the one object designed to interrupt you. Thirty minutes later you have not started — you have cleared three notifications and opened an app you did not mean to open.
The tool that measures your attention should not be the thing competing for it.

How it works
Turn it to 5, 10, 30 or 60.
The face you want goes up and it starts. Lay it flat and it stops.
Nothing to unlock, nothing to confirm, nothing to dismiss afterwards.

The ring
The whole face is the display.
The digits fill the front, white on black, edge to edge.
You read the time left from the doorway, which is the moment that decides whether you sit back down.

Four faces
Or set the number yourself.
The four presets are a starting point. The Pro takes a countdown you set by hand, so if your work comes in forty- or ninety-minute pieces, that is what it counts.

Where it belongs
On the desk you already cleared.
Most of what Deskstead makes takes things off your desk — the cables under it, the bag on its edge, the wear on its surface.
This is the one piece meant to stay in front of you.
Three ways to time a work block
| Feature | Phone timer | Kitchen timer | The Block Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starts without unlocking a phone | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Cannot show you a notification | ✗ | ~ | ✓ |
| Stays on the desk, not in your pocket | ✗ | ~ | ✓ |
| No account, no subscription | ✓ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Readable from the other side of the room | ✗ | ~ | ✓ |
| Works when the battery on your phone is dead | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
A kitchen timer does most of this. It just was not made to sit on a desk, and it tells the room you are cooking.

Questions people actually ask
Do I need an app?
No. There is no app, no account and no pairing. You turn it and it runs.
Can I set my own times?
Yes. Beyond the four presets, the Pro takes a countdown you set by hand — the reason it exists next to The Block.
Is it loud?
It sounds when the block ends. We will publish the volume options once the supplier confirms them in writing.
How is this different from The Block?
Same gesture, different way of reading it. The Block has the interval printed on each face and a progress ring that empties around a small readout — you read the shape of the time left without reading a number. The Pro puts the digits across the whole front and lets you set intervals that are not on the faces.
If you glance at your timer from your chair, take The Block. If you want it readable from across the room, or you work in intervals the faces do not cover, take the Pro.
Will it work with the Pomodoro technique?
Yes. The presets are 5, 10, 30 and 60, so for 25 on and 5 off you set the 25 by hand once and use the 5 as it comes.
How is this different from the timer on my phone?
Mechanically, it is not. In practice, it is: starting a block on your phone means holding your phone, and that is where most work blocks die.
When does it ship?
