Cable management
Every cable problem under a desk is really the same problem: the power strip has nowhere to live. It ends up on the floor, and once it is down there every brick, every length of slack and every cable you own follows it.
Deskstead's answer is to give the strip a shelf and clamp that shelf to the desk. Two steel arms drop over the back edge and take the weight the way a coat hook takes a coat — gravity does the work, and a knurled thumbscrew closes the gap from underneath. Nothing is drilled. Nothing is glued. Nothing peels off eighteen months later and takes the veneer with it.
That last part matters most if you rent. Adhesive trays fail on the desks people actually own — laminate, veneer, anything that was not sanded and sealed for it — and they fail slowly, so you find out when the strip is already back on the floor.
Start with the Hook Mount Cable Tray if the strip is the whole problem. Take The Edge System if you want the tray, the hooks and the pad in one go.
