The Block Focus Timer
A timer you turn, not an app you open. Turn a face up and the block starts; lay it flat and it stops. The ring around the display empties as the time goes, so you read where you are at a glance.

Description
Four faces, one interval printed on each: five, ten, twenty-five and fifty minutes. You turn the face you want to the top and the block has started — there is no menu and nothing to confirm.
The four are a starting point, not a limit. Any face can be re-set to the interval you actually work in, and it holds until you change it again.
A ring of marks runs around the display and empties as the time goes, in the same Signal orange used on every button in this store. The digits are in the middle if you want them; most of the time you will not look.
It ends with a soft chime, and there is a silent mode for shared rooms and calls.
Shipping & delivery
Free shipping on every order, with no minimum.
Orders are picked and packed on business days. You get a confirmation email straight away, and a separate email with tracking once the parcel is first scanned.
The delivery estimate for your address is calculated at checkout, before you pay. If tracking ever stops moving, email us — we chase it or send a replacement, and you do not have to wait out a set number of days before asking.
Warranty & returns
60-day returns. Try it on your desk. If it does not fit your setup, send it back — no questions, no restocking fee.
2-year hardware warranty on the steel and the clamp hardware. If it bends, or the finish fails in normal use, we replace it.

The problem
You pick up your phone to start focusing.
The timer lives on your phone. So every work block begins by unlocking the one object designed to interrupt you. Twenty-five minutes later you have not started — you have cleared three notifications and opened an app you did not mean to open.
The tool that measures your attention should not be the thing competing for it.

How it works
Turn it face up. That is the whole interaction.
Each face carries a time. Turn the one you want to the top and it starts. Lay it flat and it stops.
No app to open. No account to make. Nothing to pair, and nothing to update.

The ring
The ring tells you where you are.
A ring of marks runs around the face and empties as the block runs, in the same Signal orange we use on every button in the store. You read it the way you read a fuel gauge — a glance, not a number.
The digits are there in the middle if you want them. Most of the time you will not look.

Four faces
Nothing to decide. Just turn.
Four faces, four intervals, one printed on each side. You turn the face you want to the top and the block has started — no menu to open and nothing to confirm.
And the four are not fixed: any face can be re-set to the interval you actually work in, and it stays that way. Set it once, then stop thinking about it.

Where it belongs
On the desk you already cleared.
Most of what Deskstead makes takes things off your desk — the cables under it, the bag on its edge, the wear on its surface.
This is the one piece meant to stay in front of you.
Three ways to time a work block
| Feature | Phone timer | Kitchen timer | The Block |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starts without unlocking a phone | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Cannot show you a notification | ✗ | ~ | ✓ |
| Readable from across the desk | ~ | ~ | ✓ |
| No account, no subscription | ✓ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Readable without reading a number | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Works when the battery on your phone is dead | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
A kitchen timer does most of this. It just was not made to sit on a desk, and it tells the room you are cooking.

Questions people actually ask
Do I need an app?
No. There is no app, no account and no pairing. You turn it and it runs.
Can I set my own times?
Yes. Each face arrives set to 5, 10, 25 or 50 minutes, and each one can be changed to whatever interval you actually work in — press SET, dial the minutes and seconds, press SET again. It holds until you change it.
The number printed on the face does not change, so most people re-set only the one or two faces they use differently and leave the rest.
Is it loud?
No. It ends with a soft chime, and there is a silent mode if you share a room or take calls.
Does it show the seconds counting down?
Yes, in the middle of the face. But the ring around it is the part you are meant to read — it empties as the block runs, so you get your position at a glance without doing arithmetic.
Will it work with the Pomodoro technique?
Yes — 25 on, 5 off is two faces. Turn one, then the other. The 50 is there for the sessions where 25 is not enough.
How is this different from the timer on my phone?
Mechanically, it is not. In practice, it is: starting a block on your phone means holding your phone, and that is where most work blocks die.
When does it ship?
Free worldwide shipping on every order, with no minimum. Your delivery estimate is calculated at checkout, before you pay.
